The factory K-series timing chain gear on higher HP turbocharged or all-motor applications have a higher risk of the timing chain gear's positioning dowel pin to break. This will cause your engine to lose timing and potentially do major damage to the engine in this occurrence. The Drag Cartel modified timing crank gear solves this problem by modifying the factory gear to be locked in place using a crank key way and gives additional support against dowel pin failure.
